My take on Ghajini
Amir Khan, the almost perfectionist successfully appears in different kind of cinemas that too one per year. After an hiatus gap of 4 years, when he appear finally in Mangal Pandey, he actually did not set the box on fire, neither he can sway the critics the way he did in the past. But movies like Rang de Basanti and Tare Zameen Par put him in a position where the kinds Shah Rukh khan would envy him. His recent movie Ghajini was much awaited movie of the year. Personally I was not that excited, as the story of the movie was not exciting for my taste. A man loses his love and memory in a fatal attack. Then he only can remember 15 minutes at a stretch. Given the condition how he takes revenge, is what movie all about. Anyway I found myself in theater to watch the movie with family and friend.
And I did not like the movie. The last 45 minutes was really dragging. Scene from where Asin exposed the gang, later got killed till Aamir took revenge was really lonnnngggg 45 minutes for me. Besides the biggest drawback of the movie is the story. It’s really unconvincing that Amir Khan’s character does not have any other option, besides taking revenge. After all he was CEO of a big mobile company. Even after all the set backs, the right way for any character was to go though the law and took revenge. Stories revolving around personal revenge are so 1980s.
Aamir Khan looked good in the action part, acted reasonably well. But in romantic part he looked short, wrinkly and old (Mostly that song Behka). Don’t get me wrong about the age thing. I like to see a 40 years old man working as a lead character in the movie, but not pretending to be 25 years old unless he really looks like that. Asin was cute and has really good potential. I don’t know about Jiah Khan. She is just ok.

Kashmir
The Situation is J&K is more edgy than ever before. Even the people who protest against Indian govt in Kashmir, don't know what they really want. Some want Independence and some says they want to merge with Pakistan. Also there is a section who does not want any change in the status of Kashmir.
Recently Arundhati Roy voiced her opinion about Kashmir.
Kashmir needs freedom from India: Arundhati Roy
And when she said India needs freedom from Kashmir and Kashmir needs freedom from India. She is not entirely correct.
Now it seems just like a bad marriage between India and Kashmir. India faced a lot of problem in last 60 years. In fact India fought 3 wars over Kashmir. A lot of Indian people (Who does not belong to Kashmir) died in those war. And people of Kashmir had faced a lot problem for being in India too. They had to face Pakistan sponsored terrorism and had to face Indian army's inhuman treatment.
Now if Kashmir gets independence from India, will they be happy. Will Pakistan allow them to be a separate country. And even if Kashmir people decides to stay with Pakistan, will that be treated like the rest of the people of Pakistan.
And will India be secure enough. Wont it affect the security and unity of other parts of India. What will happen to Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and other north-eastern states.
We Indians value a lot of freedom of individual. Not long ago we get freedom from British. So its natural for some writers like Arundhati Roy to get emotional. And I respect her emotions and wishes of Kashmir people. But what will happen to the future of India and Kashmir if Kashmir gets freedom from India and India gets freedom from Kashmir, needs to be discussed above emotions.
India needs to communicate and understand the need of Kashmir people. India does a lot of thing to improve the state of Kashmir, but this is not communicated well enough to people of Kashmir. The role that Indian Army plays in Kashmir needs to be examined and better approach needs to handle terrorism, than torturing people of Kashmir. This is a huge task. India needs someone like Atal Bihari Vajpayee or Mahatma Gandhi or Sardar Patel, who can communicate with people of Kashmir and try to redress their grievances.
India needs to counter the allegation made by people like Syed Ali Shah Geelani against India. The present situation of Kashmir can not entirely be blamed at India. People like Syed Ali Shah Geelani are also responsible for situation of Kashmir, in fact they are to be blamed more than that of Indian Army.
Also India needs to look more carefully into other Indian states. And try to solve the problems of the people of those states before they come to the situation where Kashmir is today. India has to understand its not improvement of Delhi and Mumbai makes it shining India. If it has to shine they have to take care of all people from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
Also the Hindu extremist organizations like BJP, RSS and VHP needs to understand what is important for India. The sovereignty of this country is at stake. Forget the petty politics, and try to act as a responsible organization of India. They have done enough in 1992 (Babri Masjit) and 2002 (Gujarat Riots) for which Indian Muslims will never forgive them. And if they continue to behave like this, future generation of India will never forgive them.
May God/Allah/Bhagwan bless People of India and Kashmir.
