1. Rang De Basanti
It’s not only my favorite movie of 2006. But also favorite Hindi movie so far.
The best part of the movie is story and screenplay. The way it moves back and
forth of time, the way the characters transformed from careless students to emotional patriots are really touching. There are some arguments over the way they sort out the things in the end, by killing a politician, hijacking a radio station (may not be as easy as it has shown in the movie) and communicating the rest of India over radio station. Weather those are right or wrong, ethical or unethical. But I think if I were in that situation I ended
of doing something like, i would not have ashamed of killing a politician.
2.Zinda
It’s sad that this movie was a flop at box office, nevertheless its one of my favorite. It has got a touching story. Jhon and Sanju did really good job. And by far I felt its Sanjay Gupta's best movie.
3.Omkara
Vishal bharadwaj made a great job in transforming the Shakespeare’s Othello into Omakara. So did all the actors in it, especially Saif Ali Khan.
4.Dor
I never liked Nagesh kooknoor's movie. Even all of his movies are based on some great stories, but i found he messed of with the direction. More often you feel something is wrong somewhere. Dor is no different. The story is great, so as the performance of Shreyas Talpade and Ayesha Takia. But there are a lot of flaws in Nagesh kooknoor’s direction. Still then it’s one of my 2006's favorite movie.
5.Khosla ka Ghosla
Good to see a movie which is rich on content, and humorous. Don’t need to make an effort to keep your brain in your home to see a comedy. For me Boman Irani is as good star as SRK.
6.Corporate
It’s always a great comfort to see a Madhur Bhandarkar's movie. But it’s always have sad ending except Satta (Never seen Aan). He shows you real India with a humor. Can't wait to see Signal.
7. Lage Raho Munnabhai
Once again we have Munna and Circuit. But I am little disappointed. Its not as rich, as convincing as MBBS. But still it’s a great movie. Waiting for the next Munna And circuit's adventure.
8. Kabul Express
A documentary. What the so-called trade analyst/Movie reviewer are calling it. But still it’s a great movie. I personally don’t like movies, which carries Pakistan bashing just to gain some popularity in India. But this movie has shown some real things about Pakistan and USA's involvement in destruction of Afghanistan.
9. Dhoom:2
Great Star cast, exotic location and a great producer D2 is a real popcorn entertainer. All the credit goes to Aditya Chopra, more than to the director of that movie. Looking forward to D3.
10. Taxi no 9211
A movie that initially irritates with an irritating character (Read nana), makes it sure when you go out of theater you will find some tear in your eyes and smile in your face. The transformation of two people from their irritating, meaningless life into believer in truth, friendship and loyalty is heart touching.
